Simulator to help drive generation of South Canterbury drivers stay safe

A driving simulator has been donated to Aoraki Development to help young South Cantabrians to be workforce ready, benefactor Fulton Hogan says.

Central South Island operations manager Brett King said about 1000 people failed their practical driving tests in the Timaru area every year and this donation would help address this problem.

"This donation was also made to train a new generation of more aware and competent drivers," King said.

Aoraki Development will take charge of the simulator on behalf of the community and will make it available for secondary schools and the local community, King said.
